: New 05 SLT cc using GMS certificate
juscruzn 06-18-2005, 04:07 AM Took my new baby home...
05' SLT cc D/A Pollo Green Long Bed 4x4
Added:
Z82 Heavy Duty trailer package
UY2 PRovisions/Camper and 5th wheel
NZZ Off road skid plates
SAF Spare tire lock
OBVIOUSLY I am VERY happy with my new truck. (Although I believe the passenger side mirror may not be "dimming" like my driver side and rear view mirrors.)
ARE THESE GOOD NUMBERS? I live in the West coast...
The STICKER indicated $48,100.00
GMS discount (using actual certificate number)
$40,758.85
Rebate:
$40,758.85 - $3000.00 = $37,758,85 (plus tax and licensing)
I'm floored by the truck, but I'm very suspicious of dealers. (Sorry, no offense meant to you good one!) How do I know I actually got the GMS discount?
Thanks guys, this site ROCKS!
LyleP 06-18-2005, 10:44 AM Congratulations on your new truck! I can answer one part of your question: it's only the inside rearview and driver's side outside rearview that dim. The passenger side does not. Not sure exactly what the logic is, but that's the way they all are.
As to the deal, as you read the posts here, you will see that your final price is in line with what other paid, and 10K+ off sticker is one heck of a deal on that truck.:)

Thanks Lyle! :D Bummer about the mirror. You're right, no logic... The passenger mirror shines the light in my eyes just as much as the othter two mirrors.
GHOSTRYDER71 06-18-2005, 01:27 PM The gms price is on the dealer invoice. You do have the right to see it.If they will not show you they are hiding something.
coktm 06-18-2005, 11:48 PM The price you quoted sounds correct. I also just traded for a new D/A. In addition to the "employee discount" and $3K rebates, I used a $2.5K rebate from my GM Card, and traded my 01 Ford PSD Crew Lariat with 110K miles for $20K, which all got me into the GMC pretty cheep. At only 200 miles I am quite happy, but the honeymoon has just begun. We'll see how the long term relationship goes.
devilspellet 06-20-2005, 08:24 AM Go to the GM Family First Website...build the truck...the GMS price will show up there. Your price is correct.

Thanks. Good tip, that makes me feel better!
THINGS ARE NOT GOOD THOUGH... MY BRAND SPANKIN' NEW 05 CC D/A LWB 4X4 WAS HIT BY A GIRL!!!! -:t2 FRICKN' DAYS OLD. LESS THAN 80 MILES.
MY TRUCK WAS PARKED 1 AND A HALF HOUSE A WAY FROM HER DARN DRIVEWAY AND SHE BACKED UP INTO IT AFTER BACKING OUT OF HER DRIVEWAY. OH, DID I MENTION THE "STUDENT DRIVER" CAR PICKED HER UP 2 DAYS PRIOR?!!
ALBEIT SLIGHT DAMAGE, I KNOW IT'S THERE (sorry, just realized I was still yelling!!). Oh wait a minute did I mention SHE TOOK OFF!! YES I'M YELLING AGAIN!! ARGGGGHHHH I WAS BRUSHING MY TEETH AND I HEARD AN IMPACT, CRASH, BANG, A LOUD FRICKN' NOISE (GET THE PICTURE?). I THOUGHT NO... IT COULDN'T BE. I RINSED AND WENT OUTSIDE TO SEE HER GONE. NO NOTE, NO SORRY, NO "OH SH$%".
Okay, you all get the picture, I'm going to get estimates and the Dad was very apologetic and stated he will pay for whatever it takes. I don't think it's out of my system yet but thanks all for letting me vent.
I'm going to take a valium now:eek:
Drillchart 06-20-2005, 11:45 AM That sucks man, sorry to hear that. Hope everything works out.
dan_diesel 06-20-2005, 11:52 AM juscruzn: That's a horrible story! I bet the girl was scared to dealth, just gettin' her license and the hittin' the neighbor's brand new truck... Hopefully it'll be repaired and you'll never know the difference. Where did she hit? Will it need paint work? (It seems so hard to match the original paint finish, but a good shop can do it)
Question going back to your original post: You said: "Added:", were those things additional on the truck or did you have the dealer install? I wish mine came with the: UY2 PRovisions/Camper and 5th wheel, which is all of $35 option and makes it way easier to wire up for a 5th wheel or slide in camper. I have to go tear into the wiring loom to do mine now..
Hope this turns out ok for you...
96vette 06-20-2005, 11:59 AM I know how you feel, mine was 3 weeks old after backing my boat the the back yard I back on top of and wooden block to keep the boat level on the right side and I forgot to put the chock in front of the wheel to keep it from rolling off and when I picked the trailer off the ball of the hitch and yup the wheel rolled off the wooden block flipped the tounge of the trailer up and went right into my tailgate from the middle to the driverside with a DEEEEP dent about 15" long. The wife heard me cussing and came out and said "whats wrong do you need me to help" after she looked at the damage she says "awww thats not that bad" I just looked at her and said GET THE HELL BACK IN THE HOUSE.
coolhandluke73 06-20-2005, 12:32 PM Mine was about the same price Sticker was $48,165, I paid $37,800. So the dealer steered you right. Just got mine a month ago. Love it.
Kendall69 06-20-2005, 12:51 PM Dude , you took time to rinse?
lilwes278 06-20-2005, 03:31 PM Man, I'd call the cops and file a hit-and-run report! I had a kid back into my truck several years back and his parents swore up and down they would pay for all damages as long as I didn't report it to the insurance. Well, after stringing me along for 2 weeks (past the 10 day time limit to report an accident), they basically told me to go f*** myself. I was stuck with about $800 worth of damage, and no way to legally collect on it (even with two witnesses). Luckily my uncle does bodywork and he was able to fix it for about $300, but it still pisses me off to this day...

Just so you know...you can buy this wiring harness and it's a pretty simple plug-n-play thing. Only bad part is it's about $75 instead of $35.
Kendall69 06-20-2005, 05:28 PM lilwes278 - Small claims court, I think you have a year to file. You know it's worth the$35 bucks, just to hassle them, and they will have to take the day off etc. Chances are once they are servred they will settle.
I had a mechanic quote me $500.00 for tractor repairs ( signed) when I went to pick it up he said $750.00, I said why he said TUFF $hit I sued him and got $2,600.00 - love small claims court.
juscruzn 06-20-2005, 10:26 PM Thanks guys for your support!! Not only do I get awesome "tech tips", I get emotional support too!! You guys crack me up...
DAN_DIESEL
I ordered my truck on April 30 with the "added" items listed. It came from the factory with the harness. I would imagine it would be a "simple" (albeit a pain in the butt) mod. It wouldn't shock me if there was some sort of "provision" under the truck to add the harness.
Paint damage was limited to the painted (plastic) part of the bummper. Also, where the bummper wraps to the side to form the front part of the wheel well, you can notice that it is set back about an inch (left side only). I'm taking it to the shop tomorrow... What worries me more is what damaged is caused to the bummper mounts and supports.

I didn't get the chance to yell at my wife. She came out, saw my face, and turned about (back in the house)!! She is still appologizing and saying it was her fault (and kissing my butt!!) I must be a MONSTER! She didn't do a damn thing.
It's okay though, she feels so bad I think I can get a gauge or two out of this whole ordeal!
Again, THANKS EVERYONE!:D

I hear ya. I wanted to keep the "luv" with my neighbor but I still had to "CYA". The POlice came out but did not do an actual report. The officer said because of the low dollar amount damage, just take this log number. Some record is better than none I guess. You're right though, until it is actually fixed and PAID, it's not over...
jlwranch 06-20-2005, 10:51 PM I live in the south. I bought an 04 GMC with LLY last July. My Dealer was discounting about 8k off of the sticker. Its sounds like you did well. With the high price fuel I think they are all suffering some and are willing bargin more. They need to move units of all kinds. It is a buyers market that is for sure.

Sounds like you came out smelling like a rose on that one! I thought about taking it to small claims, but without a police report it would have been my word against theirs. Plus it would have been just as much hassle for me as it would have been for them. It's over and done with, but I definitely learned to make a police report no matter how insignificant the damage is. And I don't know about you guys, but even after the truck is "fixed", it still bothers me every time I look at it because I know that it's been wrecked.
It suprises me that the cop didn't at least give the girl a citation for fleeing the scene. Sometimes I wonder why people can't comprehend that there are responsibilities for their actions, and then I read stories like this... Where's the incentive to stick around and do the right thing? :shake:
juscruzn 06-22-2005, 01:03 AM Repair quote: $1100.00
Truck goes into shop Monday. (Want to play this weekend :) )
Gave quote to the DAD, and he asked how would I like the payment. Everything good so far (fingers crossed).
Update to follow... -:t
