what is the average price that is paid if you use your truck to haul campers/boats horse trailers etc for a company?
seems like their requirements of what they want you to have is pretty high and IM just not sure that its worth it.

Freight haulers like JB and Swift can do it for $.90 a mile...surely you can with a pickup...
If it don't pay, don't haul it! Say no to cheap freight!!!

.90 is what this company is offering to have me use my truck to haul for them.
campers/boats/ etc...
Never done it before other than for people I know. Seems like the 90 is better than the gas and beer. (beer never consumed while driving)
just seems like 90 could be close to a break even after fuel, maintenance, repairs etc. over the life of the truck.

I would think 90c is a little cheap. I try to make $2 a mile with my truck tractor. I know you will be burnin less fuel than i am. But if lookin for something to do try it once and see how you make out. You wont go broke just doing it one time.

anyone sit down and do the calculations?
just ball-parking that doesn't sound to bad, basing it on a small picture of 5,000 miles @ $.90 a mile
its paying you a little over 50 dollars an hour to run the truck, i set the fuel mileage at 12mpg and subtracted 200 bucks , 140 dollars spent in fuel, and 60 on an oil change done by yourself. I sent the pace for the mileage at an average speed of 60mph, witch makes 5,000 miles go by in 83 hours, though this is ideal, its probably not the actual hours invested in the project overall, as you have to factor in stop time and what not.
i don't think that's to bad in a 1ton truck?
does anyone see anything i missed, i didn't calculate food either, but i guess that's besides the point.
For $.90 a mile id give hauling a shot, see if i could make out
where did you get the potential opportunity from?

From what I've seen .90 is cheap. And there is rarely a load on the return trip. I looked at other forums and most places pay just enough for the retired guy that wants to travel some but doesn't want to pay for it. To make money its better to get a trailer to haul more than one camper for example. Look at hotshotting forums search for rv transport companies. Lots of info on this subject. Some other expenses are insurance and repairs rack up fast when you put that many miles on a truck.

And doesn't "For Hire" constitute Commercial use and fuel/road tax stamps?
