Was lubing my front end and noticed that on my passenger side that the Rubber stop (maybe called jounce stops???) was getting pretty chewed up like the A arm was hitting it pretty regularly. I have an 03 D/A aith 50k mi. Is this normal? and what should I do to correct this? I was thinking that the shock may be bad, or that the torsion bar may be weakened. However the truck sits level from left to right (still is raked and lower in front however). Im stumped.

I'm betting 50 bucks your stock shocks are toast. IMHO spend a little extra cash and get some bilsteins or similar. My stocks were pretty much done at under 10,000 miles. Stops you can get anywhere.

I found my right front was shot also and I have Bilsteins. I put some Timbren rubber springs on mine last weekend. Time will tell how they hold up, but it does make for a firmer ride.

Funny you should ask this Q, as I was just getting on here to do the same thing... I was at a friend's house and we were looking at the new truck and he asked: "is that normal?". Now I had just put new Bilsteins on all around and was out for my first ride on 'em *they absolutely transformed the ride of this truck! :D ) -- but anyway, I wait until I get home and on flat ground, and mine are actually sitting on both stops all the time!
Is this normal?? That would mean the truck is using the stops as part of the spring system!! My truck is brand new, not even 500 miles on it yet, so other than the new shocks, the suspension is as it left the factory. No wonder the dang thing rides so harsh...
Any help is appreciated, can't imagine what it'll be like when I actually put something IN the truck...

Don't sweat it....My gasser used to ride on the stops before the t bar crank. Your heavier diesel should do the same stock. I thunk that riding on the stops gives the truck a little better ride. I also think that GM engineered the truck to ride on the stops in combonation with the t bars.

Just go buy a new one and install it if it bothers you. I did that just before I sold mine, I think it cost me $25. Took all of 5 minutes to install.
I think the pass side one gets chewed quicker because the torsion bar isn't cranked as far as the drivers side one is in stock trim (due to fuel tank and driver weight), so the truck rests "heavier" on the pass side jounce bumper

It is designed that way and it is normal . When cranking T bars some provision should be made to get them back in that position . That's part of the ride problem with cranking.
