DO NOT use gear puller to unload torsion bars. We just lifted an 05 GMC Dmax/ally tonight, one of the guys grabbed a gear puller instead of the correct tool and just as I walked in the bay the socket used to turn the forcing screw flew by my ear and the puller hit the ground, socket hit the wall of the office leaving quite the dent in the drywall. If correct tool is not available DO NOT USE ANY SUBSTITUTES .... PERIOD.

I am still amazed people are crazy enough to hang it off the edge of the crossmember and hope it stays...

I made a U of 3/8 plate that went over the crossmember and bolted to our big gear puller. That worked ok.. Much safer. Nowhere for it to go. The correct tool from gm would be better though...
