Has anyone taken their trucks in for warrenty work with an upgraded tranny?
If so did you incounter any greef from the dealer or did they even know of the new tranny?
I may have a computer module or solanoid issue with mine.

Being as how your sig. says you have a Stage 5 Suncoast, if it's a solenoid it should not be warranty work any ways. I have only seen a few TCM's fail so that is highly unlikely. My best guess would be they would deny warranty work just based on the fact that it shifts different and they would most likely figure out the Suncaost transmission. Then again you may get a tech that doesn't know much and say it's bad transmission and shove a stock warranty rebuild in there for you

I am sort of leary of taking the truck in for those exact reasons.
My truck has been down for over a month now with around $7000 spent on a Suncoast V tranny, fluids, installation, and shipping costs and I have not been able to enjoy the satisfaction at all.
I would hate to get on the same side as Mackin, but at this point I am not sure if it is a Suncoast issue, an installation issue or something else. I do know that the only problems I have had befor the install was a simple limp mode and it would go away after simply shutting the truck off for a second and then going again.
The same results as limp mode. Wont go past 3rd gear, after start up no reverse until you put into drive then it will work, and a hard bang when ever you do put into drive.
The tranny shop that installed it does not have a code reader so I took it to someone else and they had it for two days with no real conclusion, but they think either the computer modual for the tranny, the solanoids or maybe the wireing harness.
All three of these items can't be cheap and I don't really feal I should be resoponsible for the cost of this. Since I have never really gotten into the throtle being that it has not had the fast learn done to it yet.
Suncoast is working with me the best they can, being the farthest possible space between two US states. So far it has been just phone calls back and forth. Mike L has put a hand in this on the phone and computer as well and I really appriciate all the help so far and any future help.
This is just aggrivating as all get out.

I was blowing 10 amp ing0 fuse in the dash causing the truck to lock in 3rd with the TC unlocked. After looking found that the ATS harness had rubbed through and was shorting out blowing the fuse. new harness from allison was 45 bucks. Now the trick might be finding an Allison dealer.

The Allison web site (http://www.allisontransmission.com/)has a dealer locator. :)

Wow I'd be kinda pissed too if I dropped some serious coin on a tranny upgrade and it's still having a problem. I hope this all works out for you.

Is there an eay way to test the solanoids that are in the tranny to see if they are still good with out buying new ones?

Is there any chance you still have your old transmission? If so just swap the solenoids from it. If not have Joe send you a couple they are not that expensive down here but who knows up where you live.

The old tranny is all ready long gone. I will give Joe a call and see if this will work.
Thanks.
Bad news is this is the week end and the only thing open is the forum.

Make sure if you go into the trans. check all the plugs before removing them to make sure they plug in place good and tight. A bad connection could be causeing you trouble and they are the worst to find.

Did they reuse the NSBU switch. I had one doing the same thing I figered it was out of adjustment. It was NFG in the end(Guess I broke it getting if off). It was not setting codes. I did not drive it on to road to see if it limped no point with it not working right. But it would flash on the shifter if you reved it in reverse.

I orderd a new NSBU switch thinking that it could be the problem. After switching it out there was no change.

What is the AU?

Well I finally got it fixxed.
It ended up being a cut oring on the pressure plate (I believe that was what it was called, can't remember).
Every thing is working great so far. The installer found the problem and he thinks that when he pulled the shaft that had a bur on it to replace it with the original one out of the old tranny he must have cut it somehow.
The installer has been working with me very well and has not charged me or Suncoast anything for the extra work involved.
Joe from Suncoast also gave me a call today just after I got back from the tranny shop to see how things were going. I thought this was great PR service.
Just thought I would let everyone know what was going on. All of this can be a little aggrivating when your hands are tied by not knowing what to do or where to start.
Thanks everyone for their help.
