$$$$$$$tealer is only offering me 23k for my 2002 cc 4x4 with 27500mi. That is like 1500 less than Kelly blue book. However, that is 5000 less than NADA. I am interested in this deal, however, if they don't come up from 23k I'm not going to do it. What do you guys think. Thanks...

I don't know what the market is like where your located, but your truck would sell for 27K very quickly where I'm at then you do an in and out deal and you've come out way ahead. Nada is definitley way off right now, but Kelly trade in seems to be pretty close to wholesale.

Dealer here gave me $1100 over the Kelly Trade In value on my trade, so I was very pleased, but, the best advise I can offer is: If it doesn't feel like a good deal to YOU, you should probably walk away.

I agree. I think I'm walking. I'll talk to the guy tomorrow. That makes me sick. If I got that value for my trade I would do it.

AND by the way -- I get this thing in the mail telling me they will give me 100% market value on my trade in. Do you think I have any recourse in this?

I was thinking about trying to go trade in my 05 2wd crew cab for an 05 4x4 ext cab. Maybe I can get them to do an even swap with me. I am disabled and am currently having trouble getting the state to modify my truck for me to drive, but I found another system that would work better on an extended cab that they may go for so I wouldn't be stuck driving a van

Good -- luck. If they are anything like here it won't be pretty. Plus yours is '05 so I doubt you will get nearly what you got in it. Lets say you bought at invoice. Well you are already down another 4k or so due to the GMS. Then you have to knock off another 5k or so due to it being used. Maybe they will be nice, but have you ever heard of a dealer doing this. I got no respect for dealers.

During this GM sale bend over they are trying to steal all our traades to make up what GM is making the stealers sell the vehicles for. First stealer offered me 12K, yes I said 12K below low blue, for mine. He same back to the table and said Iwas 12K "UPSIDE DOWN" - I got up and almost showed him what upside down was, but I was with wife and daughter so I polotely said " no thank you"

Trading your truck and buying a new one is kinda like a double edge sword, they may give you alot for your trade but that means there not going to knock that much off the new truck, if they give you below value on your trade then they most likely knock more off the new truck so its kinda a no win situation sometimes, you see what iam trying to say here (your not going to beat a man at his own game) just better deals from dealer to dealer.

I just traded a 12,000 mile 05 1500 CC SB Z71 in on my GMC and I had a heck of a time getting what i wanted due to to fact that 05 trucks aren't in the book yet. And all they have to base a value was off the manheim reports.

I was getting hit at $23,500 all over Texas and all the dealers were sayin that yes it is a few months old and yes it had an msrp of $38,600 but you can buy a new one at GMS pricing for $26,800..... I understood the $26,800 part but the trade at $23,500? Nawwww....It hasnt depreciated that much! Once this GMS sale goes south than the used car market will adjust back to reality.

I found a dealer in a small town in north texas that seen it my way and gave me $26,000 for my trade and I got it $500 back of GMS pricing!!!

Hang in there!

The only other thing to do is to buy at GM sale pice, and keep the trade and sell it higher, after the sale. BUT, and I do mean BUT, there is going to be a glut of used vehicles on the market this summer, PLUS whoever was even remotely thinking of getting a new vehicle, and those like me who weren't even thinking of one bought one during the sale, so summer sales for GM vehicles should be nonexistent. I had to take 3K less than low blue, but like I said I was offed 12k below low blue.

I just traded my 01 Ford, CC, PSD, Lariat, with 110K miles for 20K. since I got it for 31.5K I was pretty happy with the deal. I figured I would get less for it. The dealer started at 17.5K, the negotiated up to 19K. I then went to an auto broker who got me 20K for the trade, and did not charge me any D&H on the truck. I feel pretty good about the deal.

Leave them your name and number before you walk, they will be calling you later to raise the offer on your truck. Then just hang back and wait for the phone call. May take a couple weeks, don't get excited when they call, it may take a few discussions to get your trade upgraded, but it will come up. They want to make the sale.

Last year I got 22,000 and a great deal on my Dodge.

2001 GMC Crew Cab had 72,000 miles on it. Most dealers offered $19,000 but I ended up squeezing 22,000 out of the dealer that found me my new truck. They also allowed me to remove any non factory accessories with no penalty because they said it was going to a wholesaler who didn't add on for add-ons.

Got the Dodge for 35,000 and change. Good deal on both ends can be had.
