I was doing front brakes today, removed right front rotor, went to do left and got the caliper off but rotor will only slide off about 1/2 " and no more, wiggledit, beat it,it acts almost like the hub is flared out just a hair,I am at a lose what to do. Can I heat the part of the rotor that the studs go through to expand it, or poss. file a hair off O.D. of hub? any answers would sure be a help, never seen anything like this before. It moves fine the 1st 1/2 " confused!  THANKS

You got the retaining washers off first, right??

got those off first thing, also tried using the 2 small 3/8 tapped holes and a puller but it stripped out the threads.

 can you see where it is binding at all...on the studs I'm assuming?

I don't think I would heat it since the hub bearing is right there.. Bigger hammer maybe..

If you do what I'm about to tell you you'll have to replace the rotor. Here goes...
Hit the back side of the rotor with a 4lb or so hammer, sometimes we have to use a full size sledge hammer, put a lug nut or 2 on loose to catch rotor, use the least amount of force neccessary to get rotor off. At our shop this is the last resort because of the inherent problems that could happen, knock out bearings etc.

no it is not hitting studs,it is like it won`t slide off hub. rotor is not warped or grooved much. can I just change pads ?

Any problem that the rotor has now will get worse with time, best take care of it now. Hope you don't have to use the "Ockgator method". Big hammers work but there's usually a price to pay when there's no other way.
