Might as well build it strong once, in stead of having to rebuild it when you want more power, besides over building is not a bad thing, it will do what you want with a lot more reliability than a trans ment for say 500hp... thats the max rating, so your pushing the limits of what it can do

My thoughts exactly. Skimping on a tranny build might not be a very good idea.

I would pick up cans from the side of the road to make sure i get the better trans kit. I can get you a deal on a stage IV.

The trans is not the place to skimp. Put as much tranny in as you can afford, it you can't afford all of it right now, back the power and wait it out a couple more months.

I sure hope they don't actually use 8 C-2's in there builds like the picture shows though. Mine shifts solid enough as is with 7 in it, and I know many only run 6 in there.

I'm saving right now to have an OVER BUILT tranny done for my truck. I'd rather have something over engineered giving me a lot more room for error than have something adequate for what I want. That gives me more flexibility down the road as far as engine mods are concerned and fudge room for any abuse before future mods.

I'm curious about this too. The suncoast website says that C5 clutches are coming soon for the 6 pac kit....

what does that mean?

If you contact Big Dipper he will explain it to you better- but he doesnt install "just" a Suncoast Stage IV! He builds you a custom trans for you using the best parts- not just suncoast. He differentiates the level of builds by stages- and a Stage IV from George will outlast ANY run of the mill Suncoast IV! GOOD LUCK- Steven

i was leaning towards the ppe kit for 2300$ on alligator performance's website, i think holds 800 hp. and correct me if im wrong but doesnt suncoast make ppe's kit?

Putting a HP rating on a kit is misleading- install has alot to do with how your trans will hold! Also, if you buy a kit you are in need of a rebuild and installlation- GOOD LUCK Steven

It is my understanding there are a few specialty tools to use. I would recommend having someone do the work for you especially if your not to tranny savy...lot of moving parts

yes but you will never get tranny savy unless you get in to one and find out what makes it tick. not going to be a good mechanic paying other ppl to work on your truck just because its to hard.(hard is the guy that enginered the first auto trans)
