I have a 2001 DMax with Edge and AFE stage 2 intake, no other mods, should I go with a 4" or 5" exhaust? What are the differences in power or drawbacks?
I have been looking on ebay at the silverline and MBRP systems with mufflers, I dont want a straight kit due to noise.
Thanks in advance.

Not much difference in power between the two. Might get slightly lower EGTs when towing. 4" will be quieter when on it compared to the 5". The 5' is really not bad in normal driving but really gets loud when you get on it. So if noise is of any concern then I suggest the 4". I check also with the Vendors like Performance Truck Products at least on MBRP. I did see a post they be closed a week and I forget when that was.

4". MBRP/Silverline. You won't be dissapointed. It really won't be that much louder than your stock system.

4" is all you need, but 5" does look and sound great. If you want it LOUD, go with 5". Some people find it a bit overbearing though, especially on long road trips. Skip ebay and check out our pricing, I bet we have them all beat.:D:cool:

I'd like a 5 also but I do take long road trips. How annoying can the 5 be. Not sure the wife would like to hear it real bad all the time.

As mentioned above, go with the four inch. Inside the truck it will stay quiet so you don’t get the stink eye  from your lady, but outside the truck it sounds mean so you get the approval from your friends. You don’t gain any performance with the five inch system unless you are in the way high HP range.
