I emailed Bill Heath from Heath Diesel and he provided me some good info. This is what I have done. I ordered/installed the Turbo Master. I removed that silly snorkel that diverts air into the filter box. I then grinded and polished the input port to the turbo. IT IS LIKE DRIVING A NEW TRUCK!!!! I pulled the same 5000LB trailer but with 800lbs of water and 1500LB of ATVs and I got 12 mpg vs. 8mpg (pulling two major passes) and my truck ran a whole lot cooler. Thanks to everyone's insight.

P.S. Oh yeah the biggie........I got my turbo whistle back!!!!!!

Where do you pull the snorkle out at? Up by the headlights?

The snorkel goes from behind the headlights to the airbox and has only 1 1/4" screw behind the battery holding it in place but it is still a tug o' war getting it stated out of there.

When I did my EGT install in the maifold, I pulled the inner fenderwell for more access. At that time I pulled the snorkel (or a portion of it). The part I pulled, was between the battery tray and radiator core support - behind the headlights. Could I/should I have pulled more ?

yes, there's a piece in the inner fenderwell.

There is is one screw by the battery. I then cut the two lips of the part that fits into the air filter box. I then used 2 vise grips and walked it out of the where it is coupled to the air filter box. Each time I gained some inches I would slice it further.

Guess I'll be under the hood again to remove the 'second half".
Is the 'cone' that sticks out of the inner fenderwell part of the 'sinful snorkel,' or is it a 'keeper' part? How does one go about removing the 'cone' - lots of force ?
