Going to do my tstat in a few days, and had a question...Does the 8.1L have any kind of bleeder screw? Or does it self bleed? I'm not familiar with the cooling systems on these trucks. Searched and didn't find much on the topic...

driver side bottom of the radiator there should be a petcock. if nothing else when you pull the t-stat housing you wont lose alot of anti-freeze.

By bleeder i meant a bleed screw, on most engines located near the tstat housing, used to purge air from the cooling system after you open it

I see in your sig you have a 180* tstat, did you just slap it in, refill what you may have of lost, and that's it?

I changed mine to a 180* last week and could not find a bleeder of any sort. About 3/4 gallon leaked out. I filled up the res with 50/50 premix. Wow what a differance the 180* makes.
