On my last truck I found a thread on how to install footwell lights in my 2006 2500HD.

Does anyone know if the new body wiring is the same so I can install the same lights?

Thanks,

If I can figure it out, (the wiring) my plan is to install a few of these, in amber I think.

I like the LED's, but looks like there is no setup for the wiring in the NBS huh?

That's a great idea though, I hate the lack of courtesy lights in my 2008 LMM...from the dark floorboards - to the dark glovebox - to the darkness on the inside of the center console - to the bed light being tied into the overhead interior light - all the little conveniences that they didn't put into this $40k truck drive me crazy. Please post if you figure a way to incorporate some floorboard lights.

My friend who no longer has his truck just tapped into the harness that goes into the front doors and used the wire that used for the door light for his truck. He used white LEDs - that made a complete difference.

I put courtesy lights in mine. Nothing fancy like LED's or anything. Very easy to do. I just spliced the wiring into the existing overhead lights (which is right above the brake pedal) and it really lights up the footwell area.
Total cost less than $10.

On my last truck I had them. I just put them on a switch by themselves. I plan on doing the same in this truck one of these days. It really helps out with a little extra light.

It really pisses me off that GM year after year eliminates the little conveniences that used to be standard on these trucks even though prices go up year after year. Glovebox, visor, footwell, underhood, etc., etc. On my buddies new Tahoe the outside temp thermometer & compass was relocated from the driver's rearview mirror to the dash where the passenger can no longer see it..........probably because it was cheaper to do it this way......probably the same way on the newer Silverado too.............UNBELIEVEABLE.
