I am 5'4" & have a problem with the seat being too low. In the past, I've always pulled the seat & put spacers under it & replaced the mounting bolts with longer ones. I have the 40/20/40 seats W/power on the driver's side & cannot figure how to get it out, or at least loose, so I can put spacers under it. Any help out there? By the way, the GM shops are not anxious to tell you how.

Are you sure the seat is coming all the way up? My wife is only 5'2" and does not have any problem driving. Sounds like we have the same setup.

I'll throw this idea out there.....
Would it be possible to install the adjustable pedals from an Avalanche in our trucks, or is there just wayyyyyyy too much involved????

There are just 4 nuts on studs that you have to undo to pull the seat. They have a nonstandard head shape but the correct size 12-point socket works on them. The up and down movement is achieved with a jackscrew on the front and back of the seat bottom. I wanted more tilt and was able to readjust one of them. Possibly you could readjust both jackscrews and get another half inch or so of height. I don't think there is a whole lot of extra stud length for using spacers.

Is it not possible to get those bolts out & put in longer ones? Are the "jackscrews" obvious to see & how did you adjust them?

It's not that it's a problem driving. It's a problem in that I'm not comfortable sitting that low. I prefer to sit much higher than the current situation allows.

It's been over a year since I had the seats out and I don't remember a whole lot. All I can say is after looking into the seat assembly from the bottom it wasn't very difficult to locate the jackscrews and figure out how to adjust them.
