I've never heard the term "green keys" before until I got a new truck & saw it here. What is it/are they?

Not trying to be smart but a quick search will yield you hours of information. Search for "green keys":

It's kinda ironic maybe, but the link says no matches found, try another term.

Green keys are for K1500 chevy trucks but when installed in a 2500-3500 chevy they allow the front end to be leveled without extra torque on the torsion bars.

Would it not have been easier to tell me what they are & then tell me how to find info on this site?

GM trucks have a torsion bar suspension systems for the front. They use adjusters or "keys" to apply torque to the bars to adjust the ride height to compensate for things like a snow plow or a winch and maintain a smooth ride. The ride height is adjusted by cranking the adjustment screws that rotate the keys that applys the torque. There are several different keys available and they are identified by smalll dabs of paint on them in different colors. The difference in them is that the hex where the torsion bar is inserted is indexed a little different on each. A reindexed key allows the front suspension to be raised a little higher than just cranking the stock keys. 2500HD's come with "purple" keys in them and the 1500 (non HD) series trucks come with the "green" keys. The "green" keys are indexed a little more and are used in the 2500HD trucks. To achieve the same thing in a 1500 series truck you would use the keys from a 2000 F-150 in it.

Naw..it was easier to piont out the search function but I hope you question is answered.

So can I use the green keys to level out my 3500? What is the cost of these green keys and what else has to be done (alignment, etc.)?

Thanks,
Jim
