thought you guys might get a kick out of this. i needed to tow a pintle hitch trailer with around 9 tons total weight. i also wanted to be able to switch back to a smaller hitch for towing with a ball. what i had done was pull the bumber and fab a new one with a three inch receiver. when i need to go to the smaller hitches i use a sleeve to bring it back down to size. i could have gone with a stacked set up but so far this is working great. the weak point i was told on 2 or 2 1/2 shanks i was told was the pin. this way i was able to go with a larger pin withoout weakening the sidewall. hope you like it. in one of the pics you can see the 2 1/2" hitch for a size reference.
