Under the glove box. Pull the connector from the motor and check for power. If you have power the motor is bad. I recommend you replace the blower motor resistor with it. Due to the amp draw from the motor if it is bad. It's about 6'' to the left with a 3 to 4 wire plug in.

The toughest part of this job is getting the rubber cover off the motor. Once you have access, it's pretty easy to R&R the motor, if needed.

The cover really isn't that bad, there are several tabs that it just slips over. One on the bottom, one in the middle, and one on top. You have to pull the glove box out, then reach in and unplug the wires and lift the top of the cover off the tab. Then pull the cover out and down real hard and you should be able to snake it out. Then it is just a few 7mm screws to get the motor out.

I just pulled my motor because it too sounded like crap. Squealed really bad. Before you replace the motor try cleaning it. I cleaned the fan blades with soap and water and then blew out the dirt through the vent tube hole. You would be surprised how much crap is in there. Then if you can oil the bearing. Reinstalled the fan and it worked other than having to replace the blower motor resistor. Low speed didn't work.

Since mine yukon is a 1994, to remove the rubber shield, I had to remove glove box, pull the computer to the side, then remove 4 screws to the shelf for the computer. This allowed me to remove the rubber shield and then it is just 7mm bolts holding on the fan motor.
