I have had some major slippage in 4, have the front drive shaft out, is there supposed to be so much play in it?, everything engages fine and this thing is causing the slip,

-is ti adjustable?
-shoud there be any play when in the truck?
-the shaft itself spins freely when holding the U joint at the t case when in 2

On the point that I quoted... are you saying if you are holding both ends of the driveshaft and you try and spin only one side that only half of the shaft will spin while the other have has little to no resistance and doesn't spin?

If so... sounds like the splines are messed up and you need a new front drive shaft.

That would be your slip yoke on the shaft... My guess is that the splines are messed up. If you run your truck in 4wd it will most likely tear it apart even more.

You'll need a new front driveshaft. Or a good used one from a junk yard...

Also, you may want to think of undercoating your truck... :D

Yeap, if it is slipping at the joint where that dark ring is, then your driveshaft it toast. You can either get one from a junkyard, are get the yokes cut off the end and have a new shaft made.

That's what she said! hehe... been playing with a effed up motor, buncha elimination hours, ended up biting the bullet and finally put a pmd in er, 679km and still no stall (240 of the longest no 4x4 kms of my life) anything to avoid at the werckers?
