I have electric over hydraulic trailer brakes. They are carlisle brakes and i have installed 2 magnets on the trailer. The truck is now reading that there is a trailer hooked up but when i use the brakes the trailer brakes do not work nor do they work with the manual lever. Does anybody have any ideas, or is it time to give and install a regular brake controller? Thanks

You might consider adding a Carlisle HBA-CAM, it is designed to solve this problem. http://www.carlislebrake.com/pdfs/HBACAMsheet.pdf
Ooop,s just saw your post in the other thread. So no HBA-CAM for you. Sound like you may not have the magnets connected correctly. On wire of each magnet should go to blue and one wire from each should go to white or ground.

that is how i have ther magnets hooked up and the in cab display shows that there is a trailer connected however when i use the maual control the bars light up on the display but brakes do not function, i know the trailer is good because i have another truck with external controller that works with the trailer.

A basic question.... Do you have 12V power on the #4 pin of the truck side 7 Way RV connector? Without 12v power the electro-hydraulic activator won't power up even though the controller "sees" it electrically. Nor will the trailer battery charge.
The NBS trucks don't have the 12V RV connector connected under the hood from the factory.

Check second picture of link closely-this is the underhood power panel with fuses. The 12v power wire from factory is coiled up under the brake master cylinder and needs to be installed on the threaded post to get 12V power to RV plug.
FYI. Another thing done commonly on trailer plugs is to use the center pin as the +12V lead instead of the #4 pin.
