: price for a 2000 6.5L crew cab
bigpapawack 01-22-2010, 06:48 PM i been tossing around selling my truck to upgrade to an 8ft bed and came across a sweet k2500 8ft bed crew cab with the whole nine yards....lifted 6", pillar gauges, big tires, cooling system upgrade, chipped i believe, exhaust, ect., and spotless. almost couldnt ask for a better find. just wondering what something like that would be worth? i couldn't find anything on kbb or nada. i will have some pictures of it soon to help out as well as more info. has 101,000 miles.
trapp2012 01-22-2010, 07:22 PM Well in my case stock, new tires and oil etc.. (Basic stuff) no upgrades I paid $12.5 K. So you should be at about the same price.
tanman_2006 01-22-2010, 07:31 PM If it shifts good and runs strong still I would say $10-13K is reasonable. Not that it is a big deal but sometimes lifts and mods are undesirable to some people and you can haggle a bit cheaper price on a fuel mileage basis. It's worth a try, I personally would try it even though the lift would be awesome.
deejaaa 01-22-2010, 10:06 PM ...........cooling system upgrade..............
i thought all came w/ cooling upgrade after 97. my opinion, lifted, chip, big tires: it was abused. i realize not everyone dogs their truck but i would see how the person(young or old) treated it and if abused i would walk away. this is just my opinion so hope no one gets offended.
mamzerook 01-22-2010, 10:11 PM I paid $3000 for the 2000 in my garage. 250000 km
bigpapawack 01-22-2010, 10:17 PM Well I was told he bought it from a dealer exactly how it is now...so somebody put the time and money into it. He just got it to tow his ig boat he has but also has another truck. All this info is from 2 months ago. Will have some up to date info posted as soon as I get it
bigpapawack 01-25-2010, 01:30 PM anybody got any pictures of their crew cab 6.5's?
trapp2012 01-25-2010, 06:22 PM In my garage... http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/garage.php?do=view&g=26094

bigde53 01-26-2010, 01:36 PM I paid 25k for mine but that was in the spring of 2002. BTW my insurance puts the value at $8050.It says sourced from NADA book.

I bought my 2000 gmc 3500 slt 163,000 miles for 8500. It did not have a lift or a chip, but dual smoke stacks, air intake, pillar gauges, ect, everything else you described.
BlueBurby1 01-26-2010, 03:31 PM I bought my 2000 CCLB for 7500 at 200K KM's(whats that....170K miles?)
Chrispl36 01-26-2010, 08:16 PM there is one listed on ebay for around 6000. It has approxiamatly 107,000 miles looks good from the pics. the only thing is that it was manufactured for Canada and all the gauges are in metrics.
mamzerook 01-27-2010, 01:33 PM pics of mine in my garage.

Rampant Lion 02-01-2010, 01:24 PM Sure looks pretty. I would ditch the visor through.
I think in todays market you could probably get that for $9k or less. Cash talks. Work the "I'm not really looking for a lifted truck but I'm willing to consider this."
bigpapawack 02-01-2010, 01:42 PM Little problem though. I told him I was interested in a lifted vehicle. Has 97,000 miles. 4" exhaust 6" lift 3" downpipe bfg tires relocated pmd with #9 resister pillar gauges ect. What's the # resisters do for the fuel and where do they go?
4doorTAHOE6.5TD 02-01-2010, 02:07 PM Run a VIN CHECK here .Find out as much HISTORY as you can to help make a good decision. A 1999/2000 comes with a high incidedence of #506 casting block failures. Considering that fact I would pass. A 96 on truck to 1998 are less prone to engine block failures/ problems.Considering the 1999/2000 years had the best & final factory cooling systems upgrades the block failures really stand out,IMO .Looks & drives like a 2000 though at less cost.JMO
bigpapawack 02-01-2010, 02:16 PM What's the #506 mean? How come the blocks are more prone for failure, gm go cheap on the materials efore the body style and motor changed over? Anything else I should look for or ask about? Where would the weak part of the frame be?
4doorTAHOE6.5TD 02-01-2010, 03:16 PM Yes A GM engineer decided to lower the NICKLE content in the blocks. Ihave no knowledge of frame problems in the 1988 to 2000 frames. Seem to have some short life to the front ball joints,Idler arm w/ 2WD.I have a 1996 & 1997 trucks with 170000 & 444000 respectively , combined mileage of 614000 miles. Original engines, head gaskets, water pumps & no work or parts replaced in the oil pan. The 96 has original IP & injectors. The 97 has original injectors, but needs replacements. Both had great owners.I bought them off eBay!!!
bigpapawack 02-08-2010, 01:05 AM so i finally went to go check out the truck in person. it is a beast. i got a little more info on it and the carfax. everything looked good and it ran and shifted like a cadillac. few things i noticed were the heat controls only work on low or high, no 2 middle points, under body was a little rusty but nothing major, center console was a little rigged up and the dash had a crack in it and a few little misc light wires hanging. also the brake light was on, not the abs one, but the e-brake light because he said he pulled the fuse for the abs becasue he hates how it works. i am very interested in the truck and the next step is to throw a price out. an ideas on where to start? he said he bearly uses it anymore. it was used to tow his boat once in a blue moon but he sold the boat and have 2 other silverado gas jobs and 2 cars so it sits in the garage most o the time.

heater fan problem sounds like the resistors are shot, common problem and a easy fix, 2 screws hold it into the airbox behind the glovebox
