I promised a few tow reports with the new rig, so here it is.
'03 Duramax Dually 6spd. Towing a 42' gooseneck trailer at just under 20,000 pounds. At highway speeds in 108 degree heat of southern Arizona, the temperature gauge never got above 210 and was below that at cruising speeds. I was also stuck in stop-and-go traffic for about 30 minutes and the temps remained the same. Very stable, good passing power, and acceptable fuel economy. All in all, very impressive.
This post is meant to be informative, not boasting. I don't own the truck (company rig), I'm just trying to give people an idea of what the truck will do under hot conditions. I've noticed alot of "Can my truck handle this?" posts on this board. As far as I know, it is stock as rock with no power mods.
