Sorry for the long title I just was wondering something. I read where someone was offering their employee ID for employee pricing -- they get like six a month or something.
Lets say 2 years from now I get someones ID for the discount. Will it be exactly the same as this one is now. Will it be as easy etc... I am wondering because this new deal is just unbelievably good. I got a quote for 11k off a 3500. I don't want a new truck now -- so if I can get the same deal 2 years from now with someones ID then I shouldn't do this one right. Let me know you alls opinion.
Thanks

Employee discount will be whatever gm decides it is... Maybe they will want more money and not let them have as good a discount... Right now everyone can get it anyway..

Good question. For those of us that would have gotten it anyway, it's probably a good time to sit this out. For everyone else...who knows. In two years we'll be looking at a new truck- I doubt they'll be as generous with the incentives then.

As a supplier, I can get Sup. Discount codes for 2 other people (per year or quarter I don't remember). I don't see it going away any time soon, but they may slowly etch away at the % of discounts allowable.

Hi SethMcKinney,
I'm wondering the same thing because sometime in April of 06', I'm looking to order an 06 GMC 2500HD Extended Cab with the power package. I'm hoping by then the 6 speed transmission will be out.

Employee discount is normally only available to direct family members of the employee (parents / children). The program does not allow an employee to just give their discount to anyone. I am sure there are people that defeat the system, but it was only meant for employees and their immediate families to use.
FYI. I have a co-worker who bought a 1500 crew cab a couple of months ago. He could have used the employee discount, but it normally can't be combined with the old GM card earnings. He had enough earnings from the card, that he negotiated a better deal than he would have got with the employee price. All depends on the options available to you.

We get 2/month for employees.

We get 2/month for employees.
Does that mean that I could get the number from you say, in November, and get the discount on the 05 closeouts?:)

Seth: you need to make sure that it is an employee discount that the person is getting. As an employee we do get (2 per month I think) coupons that we can give to anyone else. These coupons are not the same as the employee discount. If I remember these coupons are the same as a supplier discount which is about 5% less than the employee discount. I know of employees that have given there ID to someone else so that the can get the employee discount. The problem is that if you are not an elligable person under the rules you could have to pay the difference. I know that GM does check on this and one of my co-workers is in the SIU department and does audits on the employee purchase program. If they find that an inelligable person got an employee discount they will pursue the person for the extra money and also the employee that gave you their ID likely will be fired.
If you need more info let me know and I can try to explain better.
