Hey guys, I have a 4in exhaust on my truck but I don't have a tip on it. Will putting a tip on make it louder or does it matter ? Thanks.

When I put the 6x18" tip on mine it definitely gave it more tone.

Sharp looking truck by the way. The tip decision is all up to you buddy. If you do get a tip the best advice I can give for one that will last and look good for years to come is make sure you get a dual-walled tip and try to find a polished stainless steel one. Banks makes a really nice 5in dual-walled tip check out my 2006 garage and it'll give you an idea. The pic wasn't as clean as it usaully is but that tip has been on the truck since july of 06. It still looks brand new other than the rubber from the dragstrip on it but a little elbow grease and some polish and she still looks new hope this helps.

On edit as for sound the bigger you go the deeper it gets my buddy has a 7in tip on his and it's def deeper than the 5in he had on it before.

X2, straight 4" pipe into 6" tip was louder than original MBRP bent pipe into a 5"

I went with the MBRP 4" to 5" Dual wall stainless. It looks really good and its a simple bolt on deal. I dont really know if it helped the sound just like other I put it on for the look. Good luck on finding one best for you.
