Hey guys,
I picked up my Z71 about 2 weeks ago and already have a stone chip low on the hood. I'm not a big fun of bug guards, but figure I'll put one one to help deflect some stones. I was wondering what the best one to get is. I know some vibrate against the hood and destroy the paint there, are there any that dont do this?

and...

I was washing it the other day and noticed a part of the hood where the paint looks a little different. After trying to wash it I realized its a paint flaw in the hood. Does anyone know if chevy will cover this under warranty as poor workmanship and repaint my hood? Thanks all.

No one has a bug/hood protector to suggest?

I have a Bugflector II in red. Mounts using existing holes in your hood, no drilling or double sided tape. It's held up for 3 years now. Doesn't rub the hood.

I got a small bottle of touch up paint from the dealer for the occasional chip (rocker panels, etc.)

There are several manufactuers of bug shields. Even Draw-Tite makes one that is a low profile version. As far as the paint the vehicles are painted by robots and no matter how well you program them there is always weak spots in the paint. You should be able to get that fixed under the warrenty.

Thanks guys. I was just really concerned about it rubbing the hoob. I had a :badidea: f-150 for a little while and had to get the hood repainted on that. The day after I put the deflector on the paint was already scuffed from it. I really dont want that happening to my nice and pretty chevy.

I've got the GM hood protector. It fits great and doesn't lay against the hood.

I would recomend it. I think they all run about the same price no matter which brand.

Romark,
GM it will be. I'd rather stay with GM products so I like it. Thanks so much

Pic of the Bugflector II in red. Shop around, I'd be surprised if GM actually made their bug shield themselves. Pre-Denali lights photo.

I had a problem with the latch under the hood rusting , I thought thy would touch it up with paint , that's what they said after looking at it . When I brought it in for the work , guess what , the body shop says, the rust is where I can't get at it so I ordered you a new hood , under warranty
