I know it's not a GM but here's what I helped a friend load up into his truck last night.

Those poor tailgate cables.

It's actually not even resting on the tailgate. We put a piece of 1/2" x 6" under the 2"x10"'s and that lifted the 2"x10"s off of the tailgate. The car only weighs about ~1700 pounds and the motor is up front. The hardest part was hooking the straps to the small dodge tie down locations.

Weight isn't close to being an issue but overhang onto tailgate might be. Imagine trying this with a Tundra's weakass tailgate and 1000lb payload:eek:

That said, it ain't a 911 so weight is mostly upfront and those old cars are featherweights. I'm guessing 2k tops?

Good post, by the way so thanks for the link.

I love how the one guy is telling him to cut it to the right(his direction!), and it is about to fall off the right-side!!!

A Good Tip: When giving directions, tell them which way to go according to their perspective!!!!!

Yeah, it was fun getting it up there. I was steering it and couldn't see a thing not to mention having to walk up the bed rail still with my hand on the wheel.

I noticed the hitch on the front of the truck, maybe they had to pull the Dodge with a Chevy..... :D
