I have an 86 ford e350 -6.9 motor and the last owner replaced the fuel tank sender with a sender out of a 92 f350 7.3 motor. He did this as a last ditch effort to get the guage to read as the factory sender was completely worn and
could not locate a replacement. I now have the van and when I fill the tank it read a little over half and goes quickly to below empty. Is there anything you guys could advise me of in order to get the guage to read properly. thank you

Go to NAPA, AutoZone or what ever and get the one for you vehicle. The resistance is wrong.
