As said, starting to notice that my steering in getting looser. I have a cognito 10-12 lift with all the cognito steering supports, HD heim tie rods etc... Anyone have clues of what might possibly be wrong, or what i should be looking at or for ? I kinda briefley checked the steeirng components, everything seems to look good. I'm gonna look more into it, buts it been raining alot here in Cali. Thank in advance..

Have someone move the steering wheel back and forth and look while they are doing that under the truck at the steering components to see what might be the issue.

Sounds like either the pitman or idler arm nut came loose

my truck is at a place that just did my pitman and idler arms along with new Bearings and ball joints..I was just getting the brakes done..DAMM!!
they put it on a jack and everything moved way too much that is not supposed to.
They need to replace ceartian stuff first so they can see if the other components have play also..
Guy said he works on more GM/chevy trucks with lifts than any other truck...
HOpefully he does good work..
Oh and near the $800 dollar mark and ****ing.....HE said steering wheel is out of wack because all the above had play in it..

Holy crap..$800. So for that price, did they just change your idler and pitman?

This may sound stupid but......power steering fluid/system/? I always start from the simplest thing then work your way to the more in depth cause of the problem.
Like Nick says, have someone move the wheel and take a look, all the steering is visible and will be obvious if there is something with play up there I think.
I just tweaked me steering last night!

Also look at the steering shaft (input) in relation to the pitman arm movement (output). It will take two people to diagnose the movement, one to move the steering wheel and one to watch the steering box. They should both move with any action. If not, possible steering box play.
