well as some of you know i traded my van in on a odd ball old body truck

i have now a 1985 ram CCSB with a 2003 F250 SD FX4 ( yeah its a 6.0 there are mods coming )

there are a few body spots that need some attention but all in all for a 20 year old body its pretty good.

there are some electrical gremlins that i have to deal with as well.

the 6.0 pulls like a raped ape and the tqshift trans although is not as smooth as the 4l80 shifts firm and locks up real nice.

Cool. I like how the grafted interior fits in there. It came out very nicely. What are the plans for the 6.0?

ARP's , black onyx head gaskets, full EGR and cooler delete, 190cc sticks, SCT live wire with GOGO diesel custom tunes, air dog, coolant filter ( get that casting sand out ). i would like to get a ported intake too but its pretty spendy .... i'm sure as time and money goes on i'll add things to the list of wants lol

Lol sierra.. I'm just a " truck" owner now. I am a fan of diesels period. All 3 have ups and downs and yeah this will be a spendy motor compared to the 6.5 but its twice the power stock. For what I paid for the truck and the unique factor/ low mileage drive train I couldn't say no to it.

The van I had needed close to 2 grand thrown at it to make it tip top. That 2 grand plus trade made this truck cheap!.

The dumb founded looks I'll get spanking newer bodied trucks makes it all worth it. For what its worth it draws quite a bit of attention the way it is now I can't wait till the body work is fixed and a fresh paint job is done

That would require more fab work then dropping a body onto a functional rolling chasis.

Plus the exspense of buying the cummins, trans, drive shafts etc etc etc etc etc...

It's funny, it looks as if it belongs there, it's not out of place at all.

It's also good there isn't "FORD" badging everywhere all over the engine, I can deal with the Pjoke decal, it's what it is after all.

beautiful truck. i drove a 05 6.0 and it was straight piped and sounded like a jacked up vacuum cleaner out the tail pipe. i heard it was because of a high vane count on the turbo on the later models? anyways what does this one soundlike?

The 03's have less vanes... So it sounds like a pissed off jet. But with the big exhaust the note is low

ok thats better than what the 05 sounds like. still dont hold a candle to my 6.2 sound :D

yeah it has the original FICM strategy on it but its going for a reflash soon. get rid of the pilot injection making it sound more like a diesel ... who ever dreamt up eliminating the chatter needs a foot in the arse!

although your six two might sound better at least mine will get out of its own way !!

i took a short vid... boosted launch but the roads are cold and sandy so i got a lot of wheel spin. i'll try to get it up on youtube soon

my 6.2 gets outa its own way.... just needs a little time is all :p: , once i get my turbo and fuel lined up properly then it should have some more giddyap

well it looks like the electrical issues are going to be a real PITA. the wiring harness has been cut up pretty bad in some spots. i've had little luck finding accurate diagrams so i'll be off to the bone yard and see if i can trace em out. hopefully the 2 trucks i have found in yards are semi complete.

so far getting 15.5 mpg mixed driving with a heavy right foot, damn truck sounds too good to stay out of it !

I had a '05 6.0 for a few months with syngenta, back in 2006 and actuality the mileage was surprisingly decent.
