I'm looking at a 6" RCD lift for my dmax. Anyone have anything good or bad to say about this brand. I've personally never heard of it from my Jeeping experiences.

I've been looking around for a while. Like anything else, everyone has their own opinion, but from what I've seen RCD looks like a very good lift and that it what I will be going with when I do mine soon.

From what I see CST looks like it might be better, but, it also costs a lot more. If I were going to do serious off roading I would go with the CST but for putting down sand highway RCD is fine.

I've seen a lot of people say they don't like Fabtech or Procomp. On the other hand, many also say they do like them. One thing interesting, though, is that I can't recall anyone saying anything negative about RCD.

I see a lot of posts here about Cognito but have not seen much about them elsewhere.

I have had two RCD lifts on two seperate trucks and really liked them. The only thing I had problems with was on the last truck a 2003 2500HD, the ball joints in the stock a-arms worked loose with mild to moderate offroading and I had to replace them with new a-arms with bolt in ball joints. I also added the Cognito pitman/idelr arm upgrade just to help control excessive wear from the larger tires. On the new truck I am going with the CST lift just to be safe. It is definately heavier duty than the RCD and definately more expensive.

Stay away from Procomp and fabtech.

My $.02,

Chris

I have never had one, but i think they look like crap because they poke the front tire out farther than the back. Just looks weird. (the fabtech does the same thing too)

Just my 2 cents

If you don't like that all you do is add spacers in the rear and make it look mean coming down the road at ya.

I"ve had no problems with mine other than the norm.

CST and RCD only make it stick out like an 1/2" on each side some stock trucks stick out more than that.

The rcd is pretty simple to install, I've been in on doing that and it wasn't bad at all.. If I lift my truck that's what I'll get. It's a pretty heavy duty setup, has nice powdercoating, fit really well... I like it..

I have a 7 inch Cognito kit,and love this thing. It is so heavy duty.I asked about the RCD kit first and they say it is the best kit in its class, compared to Fabtec, and other brands.I went with the Cognito because they specialize in Chevs, and offer a 7 inch kit to clear 35 better. The only downfall is its alot more moolah!!!!!

CST doesn't change your track width at all. I really like the CST kit. It went together very well and seems to be holding up very well. I've got about 15,000 miles on mine. Only problem i've had is my alignment man broke an alignment pin out of the bracket. CST sent me another whole bracket at NO CHARGE. Thats the kind of service that i'll pay extra for. I have the bilstein shocks and i get compliments on the smooth ride all the time. It was pricey, but I have been pleased with my purchase. As far as other kits, I have a friend with a Rancho kit, and he is jealous every time I ride by.:D

Fabtech, RCD, CST, and a couple of others are all good kits. Been extremely happy with the Fabtech kit. All have their pros and cons.

I've had the 6-8" CST Kit on my old 03 1500HD and it was a great kit.:p: My new 05 has the 12" Cognito and I love it. It is the best kit out there right now for a 4wd truck. Really heavy duty and the ride is awesome. I strongly recommend Cognito~:ro)

I bought a new '04 1500 4X4 Silverado last summer, put a 6" RCD lift on it with 295 BFG/AT's. It rode and drove better than stock. That winter I spent a couple of months driving back roads, logging roads and sometimes NO roads in NW Montana.

Runnning through a lot of deep mud, and sometimes pushing snow with my front bumper, we always made sure we had shovels and good walking boots but we never had to use em. The lift gives a 1500 a lot of clearance and took us through some places we were sure we would have to walk out of. The RCD lift took everything my 1500 could throw at it with no problems and I will buy the same for my next truck.

Although I have a 1500 and you are talking 2500, I'm sure they are made equally tough although you lose a lot of clearance with those crazy frame rails on the 2500.
