I have a 02 Duramax that goes into a limb mode when i step on it, if a baby the pedel down it runs okay. Fuel filter is okay, new injectors last year and a new turbo last week. The GM dealer says the fuel pressure should be 26,000psi and its putting out 18,000psi, but they don't know what is wrong.......
Can anyone help?????

If it goes to limp mode, it throws codes. What codes were pulled from the truck?

It has not throne a code, it ran great one minute and like crap the next minute.

Most of the time it's the cp3, especially if the truck has some miles on it. The fuel filter should be replaced just to rule that out, it will cause the same problem. Like superpro said, it has thrown the code, just not necessarily the ses light.

I don't think lb7s have a fprv, just a fpr. The fprv is an lly and newer issue.

I know that it is a fuel pressure relief valve which would make sense that is the issue but i haven't heard of a cp3.

CP3 is the high pressure injection pump. Pulls fuel from tank/filter via vacuum and provides up to 26k psi for the common rail. FPR is the fuel pressure regulator. If it is bad, you typically get a loopy idle.

The daler is now saying it needs injectors, what does that have to do with low fuel pressure?? The injectors only have 25,000 mile on them and the engine idles like a kitten, I just can't stomp on the pedel. I called GM in Mich and they said i am out of the 7yr, 2000,000 warrenty even though they just replaced these 25,000 mile ago.
I have always owned GM and now its time to change I guess. Last week it cost me $2700 for turbo and now they want $4800 for injectors this is bullsh.t

Why did it need a turbo?

It backfired thru the turbo when the shaft broke

I would find another dealership. Where are you located? maybe someone on here could point you towards a dealer that does good work, or better yet maybe you're close to someone that really knows their stuff. Just my 2 cents

I was having a limp mode issue when towing a while back. It ended up being the cp-3, after a new fpr did nothing.

Thanks, I brought it to another guy that knows his stuff and it is the CP3 pump.
I was sure bringing it to a GM dealer that they would know there stuff but I was WRONG!!
