I am looking at a 2005 2500 SLT Duramax. I went to Kal Tire to see what they offer for wheels for the unit and they showed me wheels ranging in size from 16 - 22 inches. I asked if I had to keep them at 16 or 17 and he said absolutely not. I have been hearing and reading that we can't go bigger than 17" on these trucks. I'm confused.
Thanks

U could go what ever size u want, GM says to keep the same size OD for everything to work correctly.
I've been running 285 on 16" and 17" wheels since 2001 and it doesn't hurt anything.
On the 1500 trucks, GM sells 20" wheels for them.

While lurking around this great source of info look at peoples sigs. You will notice alot of people are not running stock wheels. Iwould say 17" is a norm for most folks to upgrade to. There are a few of us here running larger wheels.
