How do you test the radiator fan clutch on an ’84 6.2L?

As I remember you get the engine up to operating temp., turn off the engine, spin the fan by hand, and if it stops in 1 or 1 1/2 turns then the clutch is okay.

In hot weather or when towing, a properly operating fan clutch will lock up at around 210 - 220 F at this point you should hear a roar from the fan. After engine is shut off after being run the fan should not continue to turn more than about 1 turn.
