Hey guys, I have a shot at getting V1 with everything but the licenses for like $225. I pretty much know nothing about EFI. So is the V1 really that much different than the V2? I just want to tune my 05 and my dads 03. Also I would most definitely want to build a DSP5. Does V1 have those capabilities?

There is a comparison chart on the efi website between the v1 and v2. The v1 will do what you want and the price is alright, but will bring the price back up to near new price when you buy the licenses.

Yes the V1 will tune non can bus ECMs and TCMs. It is just not compatiable on 2006 or newer Bosch ECMs. it will do DSP5 tunes. But like mentioned you may be better off buying a new Flashscan whether V1 or V2 with the tune or two free. The license is like $50 for the V1 for a single ECM or TCM license. V2 license are $99 for a ECM and TCM.
