I was driving to work this morning and about after driving for about 10 miles it was fine. when this happened the engine light came on and i couldnt drive past about 30 mph? Any ideas?

It sounds like it went into limp mode, but the important thing is to find out the codes that come up, which should help determine the cause.

I have a code reader but it wont work on this pickup, i hooked it up but it doesnt work. What could likely be the problem?

Do you have the patent GM weeping tranny lines ?

If so check your tranny fluid level, same thing happened to my truck 3 weeks ago...

Poured a litre of fluid into the transmission and the light went out.

Dip stick showed okay range cold but I guess it was low once warmed right up for a period of time...

No problems since ..... worth a try

if it's not powering on check your cigarette lighter fuse, it supplies power to the obd port also. You really need to find out what codes are there before anyone can even begin to try and help.

Fuse was blown. Codes were coming up was p0106- Map Sensor and P0299 Turbo underboost. My Tranny Lines are fine But it is leaking in between the Tranny and the transfercase. Its going in on wednesday to get fixed. Could it be the fuel filter is plugged and not getting enough fuel to underpower the turbo?

Moved to Allison OEM...
