I own a 99 f-350 7.3 L powerstroke with an auto. trans. and it sounds a lot louder than most powerstrokes coming from up near the motor. It has 186000 miles on it and has made this sound for at least the last 15,000 miles. it sounds almost like a grinding or worn bearing but it smooths out when i idle it up or accelerate. i have been told that it might be my torque converter going out. Any ideas? thanks.
