: 180hp Hot Xcelerator LLY
IdahoRob 06-15-2005, 01:23 PM Anyone run this yet? I think last version was 130hp. I'm in the market for more fuel and like the options listed with this tuner. Any feedback? I'd like to wait for the TTS product, but drag race season is almost half over.

lakingslayer 06-15-2005, 02:10 PM I beleive it's up to 230hp now. McRat has one. From what he's told me the 230hp is a little much for street driving (throttle very touchy). I'm considering it also.

4kops 06-15-2005, 03:09 PM I have the big one and it is set to kill with the va box all the time. You can't have any good kill stories if you have to reprogram the victum might be gone plus on top of that the famous n2o. Throttle is very touchy but seems that I got useed to it but good performance.
dpower 06-15-2005, 10:34 PM I have the latest version and its definitely a monster. I have been driving the extreme tune by itself this week just to see what it was like solo and it has serious power on its own. It is very touchy though.....great track tune though.....

I'm running the Predator/Edge stack with good results. (But I don't have anything to compare it to.) I have bad bursting if I have them turned up to high... I assume a lift pump would take care of some of it. But like everyone else, more power is good! I just don't want to put the Edge and Predator on the shelf and start over again when I'm saving for the tranny upgrade.

The Edge is not happy stacking with programmers. The PPE Xcelerator and Hot Xcelerator are programmers like the Predator is. PPE also has a harness box that is supposed to stack well with their Xcelerator and Hot Xcelerator. I recommend you get that tranny done first. You can only benefit from waiting to get programmers. I'm waiting for the TTS LLY unit that hopefully will be out soon. I know they've been putting a lot of time and effort into getting it right. TTS is known for getting things done right.

Biterman 06-21-2005, 10:06 AM You have to answer yes to remove the limiter otherwise it remains. This tuner is HOT, just like the name. The extreme tune WILL KILL a stock tranny. Insane amounts of power and full control over the truck except limp mode. Do not use the highest setting unless you have done heavy mods on your tranny. I use my PPE on 2 every day as a daily driver tune.
Yesterday on level 2 I embarrassed an M5 beamer. The guy could not believe his eyes!
IdahoRob 06-21-2005, 10:56 AM There is an option on the removing the speed limiter, but I couldn't find one for the rpm limiter. It must do it when removing the speed limiter, because it stopped my problems with truck flattening out at 3300rpm. I'm driving on the 3rd setting around town(4th is touchy on the peddle). Power is about like Predator on 100hp, maybe a little less. Not sure if I'm "in sane" but the power on level 4 is just some more than a predator 100hp, sure puts out the smoke though.

coyotekid 06-21-2005, 06:16 PM How are the EGTs on the smaller tunes? I'd like a tuner that has a "kill" setting which is balls out, take no prisoners, cloud of black smoke extreme but also has a milder tow tune that doesn't cause excessive EGTs when towing heavy.
Will the PPE fit the bill?
DSTRBD 06-22-2005, 10:33 AM PPE will fit the bill. Tune 1 and 2 run very well and have safe egt's. Tune 3 starts to get a little warm. The extreme tune runs hard and actually has pretty good daily driver characteristics.

IdahoRob 06-23-2005, 10:52 AM It does raise the rev limiter, most be automatic. The trans will still shift in the 3100/3200 rpm range. It doesn't make the trans shift at a higher RPM, but if needed, like in my case, the truck won't defuel if trans shifts a little late like 3300rpm.

dieselrcr337 06-23-2005, 11:17 AM it raises the Rev limiter to 3600. NOT enough in my book. Because i need to get it raise otherwise i top out at 112. Even tho it raises the limiter like Idahorob said the tranny will still shift at its normal rpm. just when it come to WOT in 5th gear you will have a higher top speed, like in my case i hit the rev limiter before the 1000 ft mark at 112. so i need to get it raise so that wont happen.
