You looking for a sleeper cab or a sleeper sofa for the rear of a crew cab?

Sorry Cab but a sofa might work as well.

If for personal use, sleep sofa's OK

If commercial/ DOT, you cannot use a crew cab for meeting HOS

Not even on the bigger cab of a 5500? I know there has been a lot of discussion on the crewcab sleeper seems like that is a real gray area. But really I was a sleeper cab.

Just sleeping in a Crew Cab is not NHTSA approved for DOT [needs emergency escape]
but
Even a company that make them, states it is a gray area

That is funny! Two doors doesn't constitute an emergency escape!?

I have a good size sleeper on my rig just check out the pics. It is a Kenworth sleeper it fits my wife and me comfortably. And has the emergency exits that are required for commercial use.:driver:

I am Mr Kodiak's neighbor. All I have is the power frame for the rear seat. It is new I never used and I no longer have the Kodiak. I can put up some pics If you guys want? I also have a PPE programmer for the Kodiak I need to sale.

Its the dimensions that make the 45/5500 unable to be a dot compliant sleeper. You simply can not get the 75" you need. The real medium duty trucks like freightliner and International have wider cabs and can be compliant.
