I have a 2008 LMM pure stock. Took it to the dealer. they wanted $315 to replace the lower tranny cooler line. I think thats way to much. Does anyone know if this line is covered by warranty? GM said NO.

Also, anything I should know before I tackle this project in my own garage? The part was only $50. I doesn't look to hard. Let me know if there is something special to know about the install.

You could replace them but likely they to will leak . I had three sets installed in less then 10,000 miles , they seem to only leak in cold weather .

Thanks Puffer. Mine currently leaks from where the metal tubing connects to the rubber hose. Is this where yours was leaking?

I also have a 2008 model. The lines are covered under the 3yr/36K bumper-to-bumper warranty, but not the 100K powertrain warranty. Some dealers, not mine unfortunately, find a way to replace these without charge to the customer at even 50K or 60K, even though not officially covered.

Best choice is to remove the lines, take them to a hydraulic shop, and have the rubber portion of the lines replaced with quality hose and crimps. Whether they make the hose section replaceable (easy out - easy in) is up to you. Not a difficult job to do.

Yes thats where they leak, it is at the connection from the flex hose to the hard lines .

take to a hydraulic shop or search ebay for them. GM lines will leak again.

Unless your over the 3yrs or 36,000 miles it should be covered. They did mine last spring. I think they are leaking again.

Is this a fair price? Has anyone had them built cheaper?

Mine are getting replaced tomorrow. I have an extended GMPP warranty with 79000 miles on my truck. I'm not sure if they are covered under that warranty or the powertrain warranty. I'll ask tomorrow.

Just out of curiosity, all those that have had their lines leak, are you running Dex VI or something much better like a TES-295 fluid such as Transynd? Mine leaked with the Dex VI last winter, switched over to Transynd about a month or so ago, much colder this year around here than it was last year, no leaking so far with the Transynd. Probably just a matter of time for the cheap made in China hoses start to leak! Just get them rebuilt at a hydraulic shop. With a quality connection and hose. One would think GM would spend $20 and get a better crimp connection, they have to be paying more with all the lines replaced under warranty. Chris

I've had transynd in since 5000 miles and my lower line is leaking now. 43,000 miles total.
