So today I was fartin around with a new '10 LMM when I noticed a new light on the dash. The picture is very fuzzy as the 'ol cell phone doesn't do well up close. But it has the dirty air filter emblem on it, the one you find on the medium duty trucks. Then has water droplets falling down over the top with a little like low coolant puddle underneath. I first thought it was a 'Water In Air Filter' light which, knowing these body styles and GM, I could see them doing that lol. However in reality is the sign of the upcoming UREA injection??

mine has it too. Funny, the dealership staff doesn't have a clue.... and I am still waiting for my duramax manual supplement since it didn't come with the truck, so I can't even look it up....................

Out of curiosity, why did you switch from an '08 to a '10?

Out of curiosity, why did you switch from an '08 to a '10?
The biggest reason was wanting the shorter wheel base. To try to make a long story short, my 08 was a 3500 SRW cc lb...which I ended up with for the simple reason of I HAD to have the blue granite color when I went looking after selling my 04. And the only 2 trucks in a 1000 miles radius of my location were "twins" at the same dealership... both 3500 SRW CC LB ..only difference was one had ebony leather & navi..other had light/dark titanium & no navi; I bought the ebony. I didn't want to wait the time it would have taken to order one.
Fast forward to now... was sitting in a good position with the 08 (owed just under $22,000 on it) and wanted to go to a short bed again for the better turning radius and parking lot maneuverability ... over all easier to drive VS the long bed. Then, add in the fact that the 2011s are getting the new emissions and I have read in some magazines/ heard from some dealers that the new trucks were going up between $3 & $4,000 over the 2010s....and I didn't want to have the 1st yr of the new system. So I took the jump now figuring it would get me to 2012 or 2013 before I wanted to change again. Also, getting a 2 yr newer truck with virtually the same equipment and having your payments go down] never hurts either..... MSRP on the 2010 was $55,360 and we traded for $11700 plus tax after rebates (I took the rebate over the zero % financing due to a local bank qualifying us for 3.1% ... which actually ends up saving money since the interest is less than $3000 if we pay the loan over the full 60 mos...which we always pay ahead; so it will actually save even more). So I'm in the new 2010 for just over $33,000 ... not too bad I'd say..... BUT....
Hindsight being what it is, and having some issues with the 2010 already.... maybe I should have just kept the 08 & dealt with the long box/crappy turning radius. I had put the extended warranty on it so it was covered until 10/2013 or 111,377miles (bought at 11mos/11377 miles...for same $$ as if I bought it the day the truck was new...ask me how if you don't know about this...).... and it just turned 36,000 as I was driving it to the dealership to trade it in....
I guess time will tell if it was the right move or not......

2011's will have urea injection, so I guess they are ahead on producing the clusters.
