I just looked at the eng hrs on the 3500 I just bought & it has 1469hr & 42800mi,avg just over 29mph.That seems screwy for a truck built less than 2 yrs ago unless he idled alot. The old owner was a contractor maybe alot of trips to Lowes.

I have around 1700 hrs with 36k miles. The time adds up quickly, stopped at lights, warm-up, quick run inside that turns into 1/2 hr idling. Those numbers don't sound too bad to me.

I have 50500 miles on my 2002 and it has about 1300 hrs on it. Sounds like these trucks do a lot of idling, but they were designed for that. Remember Real Trucks, don't have Spark Plugshttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif

on an issue of hrs once with a customer i called gm tech assist and takled to someont in the enging dept and he gave me a figure like take 36k miles devide 33.3?? you get 1081 enging run hrs. the 33.3 was a number he gave me stating this is not in cold stone but a basis to figure time... dont ask why but with the vechicle i was working on it had some outrasgious run time..but the vechicle was an oil field truck spending half its day idling... 33.3 i beleave was the number..
