Planning for a moderate power upgrade to help when hauling (and a bit of backroad hotrodding) and am considering analog gauges + an Edge EZ. I think this would be easiest to remove if I need to have a dealer service the truck (important to me to keep the 100k engine warranty intact).
But I also like the convenience of the Juice w/ Attitude since it basically includes the gauges + the other conveniences. I just don't see myself pulling out the Attitude in addition to the Juice prior to dealer service (too much work). I'm sure the dealer would bark at me if I left the Attitude in the truck (why use it w/o the Juice module). Plus, I'd never get to use levels 3, 4 or 5 since I can't afford a tranny upgrade at this time.
I don't think I want a downloadable programmer cause I want the ability to adjust the power level on the fly.
How does the EZ allow the user to adjust power level -- I"m envisioning a toggle switch?
On Edge's website, it says level 1 in the Juice is the same as EZ. Does that mean EZ level 1, 2 or 3?
Any way a dealer would see a trace of the Edge module in the truck's ecm once it is removed? (you know, like a computer hard-drive that really doesn't delete the files when you emply the trash)
Thanks

I'm not sure but I think that the ez is only has one power level. I would highly recommend the juice with attitude I had it for a while and loved it I just wanted to move on to a BIG program.

Lock,
The EZ has a toggle switch to operate the power levels. Getting the Juice and Attitude is great because of the gauge package and also the safety de fueling feature the Attitude gets you. If you power on the fly either will do it but the J/A gets you more HP and the gauges plus safety features. Neither one will leave info that you were there, but ANY product will raise fuel pressure, and boost levels that can be captrued in the computer. Call us if you have any questions and we will be glad to help you.

I had forgotten about the safety features in the J/A combo. And I think I could refrain from using the upper levels...maybe.
How difficult is it to remove the attitude monitor when the rig needs to go in for service? I had envisioned a pillar mount, but maybe just put it on the dash or something? Is it a single cable connection? How would one explain the pyro probe with no gauges, or would it even be noticed? Does the attitude require drilling a probe into the manifold, or does it get its EGT info some other way? How about the boost monitor?
Thanks for the info and help!

Lock,
If you decide to get one of our A pillar Mounts it and the Attitude just pull out and off of the A pillar as it snaps over the stock one. So it's pretty easy overall.
"I was installing gauges when this D--- thing started acting up so I quit till you get it running right"
You do need to drill and tap the passenger side manifold to install the probe, lots of folks remove it and install a pipe plug and it's very difficult to notice that way.
Call us if you have any questions etc.

I still would like to know how you figure that fuel pressure is raised on ANY product???

Lock, I put on the J/A recently. The hardest part of the intall was taking the inner
wheel well off to get to the manifold. It takes 2 small screwdrivers underneath the center button that wedges the keeper in the hole. I left the engine running as suggested here. Drilled the hole and tapped it. Make sure you run the tap in far enough
or you will not be able to get the threads on the probe started. The whole J/A is easily removed but that will also depend on how you mount the Attitude. It's been in for over a month and I have managed to be sensible with it. In Calif if you get caught racing on the street it's almost as bad as drunk driving! I drive it around in level 3 since according to the DIC display I get better milage. Don't do any Boosted Launches,
Roll into the throttle instead of punching it and Defuel All shifts I was told would keep me out tranny problems. I like the performance. That kind of dead spot around 70mph when you get on it and it won't shift down is now: Whoa! 85mph in a couple of seconds! The truck rarely downshifts on moderate grades with the camper on and towing the boat and never goes into third except when you have to slow down for something. You can get them on E Bay I hear but I bought one from John at DPS a vendor here. I wanted to make sure I got a current one as it tells you right on it the date of manfacture. You won't regret it. I know I don't. BTW I am getting a EGT gauge that is compatible with the J/A probe so when I go to the dealer he can't say what are those wires for? Shop for the best price! Get the Attitude!
