I just picked up a new 2005 2500HD LS Reg Cab w/ a 6 spd in it. How does the mileage differ from a Crew Cab w/ the Allison in it (both empty)?
I know this has been beat to death, but I can't find a comparison in the search anywhere.
Thanks for the help ahead of time.

I seem to get a little better than the Alli's on the highway as the 1:1 ratio is a little better but the alli's do a bit better around town...not noticably much though.

With you having a LLY usually gets lets mpg than a LB7
My reg. cab zf/LB7 according to JJ's rules for posting mileage gets 21.9 for everyday driving. This is with a stack of PPE/VA. On the interstate with cruise set high 22's into 23's depending on road and fuel used.

I'm getting 17mpg empty running 75-85mph empty. If I drive under 70 it's just over 20mpg.I ran a 600+ mile trip this past weekend 80mph pulling my 22' flatbed with a Chevy 3500 4x4 on it part of the way and a lighter load the rest of the way and got just under 13mpg.And that included 30+miles of town driving.I was inpressed.
