another question not use to these diesels, only had mine for a few months now. So here's the question when i try to start my truck in the am and it's plugged (about -10C) i have a hard time getting my glow plugs to come on, if i fiddle with the ignition switch long enough or just start cranking they will eventually come on but they do take a while and other times they will come on right from the get go ??? Any ideas ??

the relay is taking a dump. change it or wire up a manual override button. mine did the same thing. wouldnt come on unless you went rambo on the ignition on and off alot or else got fed up and cranked it then it come on. the relays are worth around 100 bucks and easy as pie to change. its located on the rear of the driverside head.

Replace your glow plugs with AC Delco 60g or Bosch Duratherm - these are self-limiting plugs that will not burnout.

Install a manual override button as per this thread (http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=328272&highlight=override)... What you are doing, is replacing the glow plug controller and relay (assuming you have the late model integral unit) with a separately powered relay controlled by a button in the cab. YOU decide how long to glow for...not some antique-ass bunch of hokey electronics.
