Well I am on my 5th hub assembly for my HD (both left and right sides have gone multiple times). What is the deal? Yes I have a lift and 35" tires. However, so do the Hummers. Is this the expected behavior out of this truck for the rest of its life? Luckily I keep replacing them under the <1 year GMC part warantee....
Thoughts?

Holy hubs Batman! I haven't been though a single set yet. Guess I'm pretty lucky. I would tell GM to find the dang problem. That's a terrible life span and is unacceptable. Something is wrong.

If you're lifted and running 35" tires I'm assuming you've got a pretty big offset on your wheels. That would put a big bending moment on the bearings. Maybe that's your problem, but I'd think the dealer would be telling you to change your wheel geometry or take it someplace else...JMHO

Make sure you torque them down using the correct procedure. Also if your lift included new knuckles maybe they have a warped mounting surface.

I agree with a possible rim offset problem, if your rims and tires are sticking out of the wheel well a good amount it will put a lot of strain on the bearings.
I haven't heard of any one going thru that many hub's in such a short time, you should check out your lift, rim's and steering geometry and see if there's anything out of spec's

Also agreed on the offset. Incorrect offset will tear up your bearings and the Chevy front end bearing assembly isn't the best design to start with. I'm running 37's on a 2002 which sees desert offroad travel and gets air fairly regularly without problems. I do check them regularly because I don't trust them.

Check out the some heavy duty hubs that ditch the unit bearing, their made by Timken, I know Unitrax sells them. They are like $600 each, but claim to be 3x stronger than the stock ones.

I would say with the TTS, meth and lift with wheels and tires that you are launching in 4wd alot.. This will cause way too much strain on the hubs.. I have not had any issues with mine and I am running 285's, no lift but lots more power... Wonder why this might be happening other than what I and others have specified... Good luck

Thanks for all of you input. I am running a more "+" offset than usual. However, the H2's have the same size tire stock but with a bit less offset I'm sure.
Interesting on the after-market hub. I am definelty checking into that! Thanks!

All things being equal, I would look at the fitup of the bearings in the aftermarket knuckles. Second guess would be the knuckles themselves flexing for whatever reason.
I'm running 10" rims with 35's and have had no problems so far.

Time for a HP 60 from a Ford;)
I lost the drivers side after hitting an old well head. If I lose another I am doing a SAS and going solid axle.
