i did mine a couple weeks ago. You have to pull the air box in order to get the top half of the fan shroud off. I also had to pull the skid plate in order to route the belt through it took me close to a couple of hours to do it.

AB-DMAX is right on the money. Take off the airbox, skid plate, fan shroud top section and work the belt down past the crank pulley and you are home free. As he said it takes some patience and a couple of hours tops. I actually expected it to be much harder so I put it off longer than I should have. The annoying squeak is long gone.

I did it on Sunday on my wife's LBZ. I made it easy and also took off the fan, but you have to have a very big wrench for that (48mm if I'm remembering correctly). I definitely prefer the process on my LB7 and LLY. Took a couple hours, but I also replaced the alternator.

I replaced my serp belt in Oct. and didn't remove the shroud or the fan but I did remove the airbox! It looked too difficult and the belt goes around the fan. Taking off the shroud would be easier. It is very close, wear gloves. The belt routing diagram is very helpful.
