Truck has 46k on it. I changed filter this past weekend. Haven’t ran Bio yet (still investigating local sources) but since I'll be going thru some spots that have it I thought it might be worth the effort to look for some spots and give it a try. Truck gets around 8-9 MPG with the trailer hooked up. Will be starting my trip in Lake Forest and taking I-5 to 99 and eventually ending up just outside of Redding. Will stop one night in Modesto before heading all the way up. I hope to make it to Bakersfield on first tank. Will be looking at B20 blends only simply for the sake of not ready to put anything higher in. At least not chance anything while doing a family trip.:badidea:

1. Any recommendations as to stations? Good or bad, want to make sure I don’t put in anything I shouldn’t! Station recommendations need to have 14’ overhang minimum for trailer to clear.

2. I’m assuming that additives are not needed while running Bio from what I’ve read.

3. Will have 2 spare Fuel Filters should I have a problem with anything getting cleaned out. Anything else I should carry?

4. ???????

Thanks,
TT

Howdy

I was just up I5 this last week, and I didnt see/dont know of a single station on it (or 99 for that matter) I threw 20g in the bed of the truck in 5g cans, and ran B50 all the way up and back.

I dont think they grow any soybeans up there.

Looks like your best bet is Santa Barbara, or Ukiah, Santa Rose, San Jose, or Berkeley. (I am not exactly sure where Lake Forest is, BTW)

To answer your questions......

#1, I dunno.
#2, I havent run any additives with it....BD is the ultimate additive anyway.
#3, I have always heard a lot of hype about fuel filters clogging, but I have yet to acually see it first hand. I wouldnt worry about it, but it is pry a good idea to have an extra filter along, regardless.

Do you know of any other staions with BD?

Good plan taking the extra filters along.

OK. My bad. I was under the impression there was a few stations heading up thru central CA.
Lake Forest is just South/East of Irvine in Orange County.
