Here's the scenario:
Driver's seat heater failed...suspect module, back ground, switch or probably the element(s). Wanted to revert to stock tune before I take it into the dealership. When I tried to switch back to my stock tune, the programmer appears to freeze up during the process. Even after getting the truck back from the dealership the programmer continues to freeze up.
I have a BD Intimidator (made by Bully Dog for BD and BD's tunes) purchased in 2006...yes,, its old but for my purposes the 3 basic tunes is more than I need (tow 55hp, high performance +80, race +100) with a stock tranny.
During the programming process (including removing certain fuses from the underhood fuse box per instructions), everything starts off like normal but then the programmer's screen freezes before the programming finishes. In a couple of instances, there was a message of "no communication with vehicle" on the screen, but usually the process freezes up. I'll wait up to 4 minutes with no change to the screen and unplug it from the OBDII, wait 5 minutes and try again with the same results.

I spoke with a Bully Dog tech who suggested any aftermarket electronics could affect the programmer including brake controllers (I have a Prodigy) or if there are burnt out fuses. Everything else with the truck is stock including the stereo.
Fuses are fine and I cannot think of anything else that has changed in my world from the last time I changed the tune in October. Can't see my Prodigy all of a sudden affecting the programmer.
Any suggestions? Is the programmer toast?, is there a way to revive it?
Also, since my stock tune is in the programmer and if I cannot retrieve, is the only option going to a dealership for a ECM re-flash? What's involved with a re-flash?
I'm pretty much out of warranty for everything including the extended injector warranty so I'm not worried about the dealership knowing I had an aftermarket tune installed.
I'll call Bully Dog back in the morning to see if they have any other suggestions.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
