What are good inexpensive replacement (stock style or possibly slightly better) shocks for a 96 3500 4x4 crew cab with the 6.5 turbo diesel? The front ones in mine might be shot, though they look fairly new. The drivers side is super stiff while the passenger side is not stiff... may be another problem there as well, but I may as well replace the shocks too. Thanks!

Bilsteins are not going to fit into the cheap category that you want. Stock replacement Bilsteins run about $300 for a set.
You can get a set of ProComp ES1000's for about $120 or Rancho RS5000's for about $180. These will fit your needs perfectly and aren't going to break the bank. PM me and i'll give you the info on where to get these.

The Gabriel ultras from autozone aren,t too bad for the price. I have used them before and you will see an improvement for sure.

I put Monroe Reflex shocks on my truck for about $70 all around, and the ride is greatly improved over stock.

Looks like the Tenneco Gas Grande's and the Monroe Magnums are the same shocks. I think that I will go with one of those. Thanks for the help!
