Bought an 06 Black one with 98k last night. Been thinking about getting a D-Max for a long time

I am VERY new to trucks and EXTREMELY new to diesels and Dully's

The only plans I have are to make it a little faster and chug smoke!

I do not want to make it 900hp with 2k TQ. I already have a 99 Camaro Z28 with a forged 370, turbo with a 3 speed. I'm not trying to break any records with the truck, just make it a little faster and chug a lot of smoke! :cool:

My buddy and I were laughing about the very same thing today.
We are trying to make ours nice and clean. If more don't, the American perception of clean diesel will be lost and diesel vehicle options in the U.S. will continue to suck!

I will try to make it a little faster, but chugging smoke is cool as hell. I don't want it to chug smoke all the time, just when I lay the hammer down

These trucks are heavy and making em go fast will put strain on your tranny. So upgrading that will be a good idea. EFI is one of the best tuner out there to make big power. There is several tuners on here with 500+ tunes with lift pumps. If you look into EFI its not that complicated. You can get tunes from vendors here. I use Nick. There is a link to him in my sig. Turbo-back exhaust and downpipe while help keep those EGTs down. Most people claim that the OEM air induction will be fine upto 500 horses. From there you can go water/meth, propane or turbo(s). Its all on how much you wanna spend. There is alot of riding to do on here and most will get ya point in the right direction when you decide on what you wanna do.
