: Plastic housing around steering wheel removal

How is the plastic trim pieces removed from around the steering wheel inside the truck? Its an 05 2500HD. the pieces like where the 4way switch is..
pics would really help....

The lower portion may or may not have screws. Remove the torx head screw and unsnap the lower trim. The upper trim piece should have one screw going up from the bottom near the ignition cylinder.

GMCSID is correct, I would add be carefull as the little palstic hooks that hook the bottom piece to the top could break or brnd out of shape if you force it.

The hooks are near the dash guages end of the plastic pieces

You can see the picture of the 2 hook's in the above picture of the bottom piece

In case you do break it GM sells them already color matched to your truck, at least for the dark grey interior they do. Happen to be a expert on snapping those plastic hooks ;)
