i have a straight 5 inch turbo back now. if i put on a muffler how would it change the sound and performance

Depends on which muffler you put on. If you use MBRP, not much at all as their muffler is very small. If you use a larger one like Diamond Eye, it will quiet the tone down quite a bit.
